Enter in the to-do list timely cleaning of the washing machine. All sorts of cycles can lead to the formation of mold, which, in turn, gives the clothes an unpleasant smell. This tip is suitable for all types of washing machines. And do not forget that this procedure should be done at least once every six months.
What you need
White vinegar, baking soda, microfiber cloth and an old toothbrush.
Vertical loading machines
Set the parameters for the hottest water temperature and the longest cycle, then click Start. There should be no clothes in this wash. When the drum begins to fill with water, add four glasses of white vinegar and one cup of baking soda, let the mixture make a couple of turns with water, then pause the cycle (or lift the lid). During this time, use an old toothbrush dipped in hot white vinegar to clean dirty crevices, such as any powder compartments. After the solution has been soaked for an hour, resume the cycle.
Front Loading Machines
Before starting a cycle, use a microfiber cloth dipped in white vinegar to wipe the rubber pad on the front of the drum. Not everyone knows how much water and dirt can accumulate there. Then set the parameters for the hottest and longest cycle. Mix ¼ cup of baking soda and cup of water in the detergent drawer and run the wash. (Repeat: without clothes.) When the cycle is complete, remove the detergent tank and rinse it with hot water until it is clean. Then put it back in the machine, add one cup of white vinegar and run one last wash.
Hey, what is so good and fresh smell? Oh yes, this is your brilliant, ultra-clean washing machine.
